Privacy Policy
MediaKeep for Instagram · Last updated: October 21, 2026
Short version: MediaKeep for Instagram works entirely inside your browser. We never receive your Instagram login, your messages, the posts you view or the media you save. The only information that leaves your browser for us is your license key when you activate Pro, and the details you give Gumroad when you buy.
This policy explains how MediaKeep ("we", "us"), an independent product based in the Republic of Korea, handles personal data for the MediaKeep for Instagram browser extension and its paid plan MediaKeep for Instagram Pro (together, the "Service"). MediaKeep for Telegram Web is covered by a separate privacy policy. Contact: contact@randomlab.kr.
1. What the extension handles in your browser
The extension runs only on www.instagram.com and reads the Instagram page only to find photos and videos and to save them to your device.
- It reads post data that Instagram's own page has already loaded (post code, account, time of posting and photo and video addresses).
- When you load an account's posts in the MediaKeep panel, it requests the next posts from instagram.com in the same way Instagram's web app does, using the session you are already signed in with. These requests go only to instagram.com.
- Photos and videos are downloaded from Instagram's media servers (cdninstagram.com and fbcdn.net) straight to your device.
It does not send to us or anyone else:
- your Instagram login, password, session or cookies;
- your messages, followers or the accounts you follow;
- the posts you view and the photos and videos you save;
- your browsing history.
2. Data stored on your device
The extension stores the following in your browser's extension storage. This data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the extension.
- the language you pick;
- a pause time used when Instagram asks it to slow down;
- if you upgrade: your license key, the email address on your receipt, and the result and time of the last license check.
3. Purchases and license checks
Purchases are handled by Gumroad, our Merchant of Record. When you buy, Gumroad collects your email address, billing country and payment details (and your name, if you provide it) under its privacy policy. We receive your email address, order details and license key from Gumroad so we can provide Pro and support. We never see your full card details. Gumroad is based in the United States, so this information is transferred to and processed in the US.
When you activate Pro, and about once a day afterwards, the extension sends your license key and the product ID to Gumroad's license API to confirm that the key is valid, the subscription is active and the browser limit has not been exceeded. If you use only the free features, no personal data is sent to us.
4. Instagram and Meta
The requests for post data and the media downloads are made by your browser directly to Instagram, with your Instagram session. Instagram (Meta Platforms, Inc.) may process them under its own privacy policy, just as it does when you browse Instagram. We do not receive the content or results of these requests.
5. How we use and keep your data
We use purchase information only to deliver and support your license, to send receipts and important service notices, and to meet legal and tax obligations. We keep it while your license is active and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting laws require. We do not sell personal data.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to stop processing it, by emailing contact@randomlab.kr. You can remove your license data from your device at any time with "Remove from this browser" in the panel; uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or Korea), you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
7. Website
This page is part of the MediaKeep website. Visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics), Google Ads measurement (the Google tag) and the language cookie (lang) are handled as described in section 5, "Website", of the MediaKeep Privacy Policy. The extension has nothing to do with them.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
9. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new date.
